Frequently Asked Questions
Why should I become a webcam model?
Being a webcam model is a great way to generate income (potentially a lot) that can fit any schedule. It is ideal for anyone with the right look and personality who wants to make money in their spare time in the comfort of their own home.
Why sign with a studio?
Being part of a studio has many advantages over working independently. We will help you with promotion, handle day to day business operations, and advise you on ways to increase your traffic, enhancing your growth potential and helping you reach more viewers so you can generate more income. We take the guess work out and handle the difficult stuff, so all you have to do is have fun and get paid!
What should I expect?
New models often expect to "get rich quick" - unfortunately, that's not how this works. It takes time and hard work to build a following, and early on it can seem less than lucrative. But stick with it! Over time, you will gain regular fans, as well as exposure to new users. It may help to take a look at our tips on how to be successful. Experienced webcam models can make $100-$500/hr, with some of the more popular models making much more. But it is important to have realistic expectations. You might not be a superstar on the first day, but with time and effort, the sky is the limit!
How can I make myself more successful?
The number one thing you can do to ensure your success is be engaging. Interact with your viewers, have fun! Keep things interesting and try new things. You can have contests, play games, give prizes. There are even interactive toys you can purchase that will respond to viewers' tips! Consistency is important; try to keep a regular schedule. If you're not able to do that, communicate with your fans and let them know when you will be on next. Use social media platforms like Twitter to make a name for yourself, and let fans know before you go live. Try it with a friend! Viewership increases greatly when a broadcast includes more than one participant - just be sure to have them added to your account prior to introducing them to your broadcast (it's the rules)!
Is it safe?
Being a webcam model is the safest type of work in the adult industry. It's completely legal, you don't have to meet strangers in person, put your health at risk, or worry about going to unfamiliar and potentially unsafe places. But it is still important to take certain precautions. NEVER give out any personal information, no matter how trustworthy a fan may seem. This includes real name, personal email, phone number, address, financial information, and personal social media accounts (business social media accounts are okay). Do not agree to meet anyone in person, do not allow anyone to remotely access your computer. Don't do business in a way that fails to follow established procedure, as this opens you up to potentially being scammed. Don't tolerate abusive behavior in your stream (verbal or otherwise) and block abusive users when needed. CLT Cam Girls will NEVER provide personal information about you to a third party without your consent.
Will people I know find out I'm a webcam model?
The honest answer is that this is always a possibility. There are things you can do to protect your identity, but no matter what precautions you take, there is always at least a small chance that someone you know will see you, especially the more popular you become. You have to be prepared for that possibility, and if privacy is important to you, take measures to reduce this risk. Ultimately, if the possibility that this will happen is something that you absolutely can't afford, this type of work may not be a good fit for you. But if you decide to accept the risk, we will do what we can to help you protect your privacy.
